Explore the unknown universe at Japan’s largest space exhibition!

Written by aneuve

Hi, This summer’s hellish heat has seemingly passed, autumn is finally in the air, how are you?

“Deep Space Exhibition: Where is Humanity Headed?” This is the official website for “To the Moon And Beyond”.

It was held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) from Saturday, July 12, 2025, to Sunday, September 28, 2025. I visited on the final day.

For those who missed this exhibition, you haven’t seen it in person yourself, so it may lack the full immersive experience, but I created this blog hoping to give you a sense of what space—especially the new frontier—was like.

First, please watch this two-minute introductory video for the exhibition:

Space development evangelist (a specialist who conveys deep knowledge in a field to others in an easy-to-understand way), Tokaji Ayumu, will explain his particular interests in the middle of the video, but I hope that this will help you understand the topic better.

English subtitles, Japanese narration

How was that? I would be delighted if this video leaves you with some kind of memorable impression. There are still many mysterious and unknown parts of space for us ordinary people, and if I were younger I would be eager to explore, but as a 79-year-old, I was physically and mentally exhausted after walking around the vast museum.

I heard there was also a healing event on the third floor, so I headed there straight away. There were some cute animals equipped with AI there that looked soothing, I’m not sure what they were, but I had fun talking to them and ended up feeling quite relaxed.

I felt healed by the care robot.

Finally, there is an article that related to this one is “Japanese Billionaire Returns to Earth after 12-day space travel”

Thank you for your long-standing support. Have a nice day!
